February Resource Meeting (via Zoom): “Myths and Truths about Nonspeaking Autistics” - a Presentation by SEEN Advocacy Group (Spellers Empowering Education for Nonspeakers)

Join us as we welcome SEEN, an organization led by Nonspeaking Self Advocates. They will share information about the importance of communication access for all people. Here is a description of the presentation from a SEEN member:

“Nonspeaking autistics don't have to remain locked in cages of silence! They can learn to communicate fully and "say" everything they want.  Join this presentation by SEEN, a group of self-advocates who use letterboards and keyboards to speak their minds.  Although some people refer to nonspeaking autistics as "nonverbal" or "profoundly autistic", this presentation will cause you to question these labels and what you have been led to believe about their capabilities.”
