Peer-To-Peer Workshop
Learn what it’s like to live on your own, from other adults with disabilities
Learn with and from peer instructors.
In this unique 5-session workshop series, older teens and adults with disabilities have an opportunity to learn what it might look like to live on their own in the community.
Participants learn with and from a talented group of peer instructors who are already living in the community with supports.
Sessions are offered 3 times per year.
Registration is currently open for Summer 2026. Spaces are limited—register today!

These sessions are offered in a 5-week series, and we strongly recommend that you attend all five sessions in order to fully benefit. Discussion and interaction is an important part of the workshop, and we want to make sure that everyone feels comfortable sharing, so we do not record the sessions.
Participants are encouraged to participate in whatever ways feel right to them. They are welcome to bring a support person to provide assistance if they would like. Everyone is welcome in this workshop, regardless of disability label, supports needs level, or method of communication. If you have any questions about the workshop or would like to discuss accommodations, please reach out directly to abby Martucci, Families CCAN program director, who will be happy to answer any questions.
What’s next?
After completing the 5 sessions of the Peer to Peer workshop, participants will be invited to continue the conversation and community-building by joining our free, bi-monthly Independence Happy Hours.

Peer-To-Peer Workshop Structure
Learn from Peer Instructors
Peer instructors share their own experiences, learning and tools. Each week we focus on a different aspect of independent living such as meal planning, budgeting, sharing space with housemates, and much more.
Virtual Home Visits
We virtually visit our peer instructors in their homes, where they showcase the skills and tools that they have developed to live their best lives.
Facilitated Sessions
Interactive and facilitated sessions include time for making connections, celebrating accomplishments, and socializing. Participants are encouraged to participate in whatever ways feel most comfortable to them, whether that is typing in the chat, spelling on a letterboard, speaking, using AAC, or using reaction buttons.
Reinforced Learning
Thought invitations between sessions reinforce learning and provide practice for establishing new skills for independence.
