Communications/Social Media Manager
Part-time and Remote
Who we are: Families CCAN is a Pennsylvania nonprofit serving individuals with disabilities and their families. We have been innovating and creating opportunities for full inclusion of individuals with disabilities since 2014.
Our Mission: Families CCAN empowers individuals of all abilities and their families to create self-directed, fulfilling lives in the community. Our work is guided by people with disabilities and the understanding that independence is different for each person. We provide learning opportunities, personalized support, and inclusive programs that create community, build social connections, and open doors to housing, employment, and civic life. We advance the strengths, goals, and rights of all individuals to participate fully and meaningfully in their community.
Our Vision: That all individuals with disabilities are welcomed neighbors, friends and colleagues, living and working in the community and valued for their contributions.
Our programs include monthly Resource meetings, a weekly learn-to-cook training program, and peer-led Workshops for skill-building and networking. Most of our programming is hosted virtually on the Zoom platform. We do offer in-person programs in Delaware County, PA. We hire and train individuals with lived experience as mentors, instructors and presenters.
Position Description
This is a 50-hour/month flex-time position, working closely with the Families CCAN Executive Director and Program Director. All work can be done remotely. Individuals with lived experience of disability are encouraged to apply.
The ideal candidate will:
Manage all aspects of Families CCAN’s social media presence on Facebook and Instagram; Post regularly and re-post partner organization content
Write and distribute Families CCAN Newsletter through Mailchimp 2x/month
Develop marketing materials to support Resource meetings, programs, Workshops, and other events and activities
Edit blog posts; develop additional web-based content
Write impact statements and help collect participant stories
Track and report on website traffic trends
Build communications/outreach strategy for target audiences
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and 2-5 years’ experience in communications, social media, marketing, or related field
Proven results managing and growing social media platforms
Excellent written communication skills; good attention to detail
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and be self-directed as a full team member
Experience with or knowledge of accessibility features preferred
Passion for/Interest in supporting Families CCAN mission
Creativity encouraged
